Aljazair, sebagai negara terbesar di Afrika Utara itu memiliki sejarah kelam yang panjang. Selama 15 tahun, dari tahun 1988 hingga tahun 2003 Aljazair harus mengalami perang saudara yang sanget mengerikan. Hingga kini, sejarah kelam itu menjadi trauma yg hebat bagi warga Aljazair. Periode ini dikenal sebagai Black Decade Algeria atau dekade hitam Aljazair.

Bukan untuk menyudutkan satu kelompok atau agama tertentu. Tapi untuk mengingat dan menjadi pembelajaran bagi kita, jika balas dendam, kekerasan hingga pembunuhan tidak dapat dibenarkan oleh siapapun dan oleh golongan apapun.
