Description

Heer Ranjha (1992), directed by Harmesh Malhotra, is a tragic love story based on the classic Punjabi legend by Waris Shah.

Ranjha (Anil Kapoor) is a handsome, free-spirited young man who falls in love with the beautiful and strong-willed Heer (Sridevi). They meet when Ranjha leaves his home and ends up working at Heer's family estate, hiding his identity. The two share a deep and spiritual bond of love.

However, their relationship faces intense opposition from Heer's family—especially her manipulative uncle Kaedo (Anupam Kher)—who tricks Heer into marrying another man. Despite the separation, Ranjha becomes a hermit, wandering and suffering in love.
